Nissan Leaf Wins IHS Automotive Loyalty Award

The Nissan Leaf has been changing the way we think of transportation for a few years now. With their all electric system, this little car has been the recipient of criticism and compliments alike. Despite what critics say, the real question is, how has the market received this little car? Well, with the increases in gas prices (until lately that is), people have been looking for any way to cut down on spending so much at the pump. Understanding the market need, Nissan has provided a solution in the Leaf and time has shown the markets response to this innovative automobile.

Recently during the Automotive News World congress at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the Leaf became the first and only plug-in vehicle to win the 2014 IHS Automotive Loyalty Award. (If you were wondering: This award is presented to brands that display the ability to retain consumers over repeat buying cycles.)

Clearly the people have spoken. The Nissan Leaf sold over 30,200 units during 2014 alone. No plug-in vehicle has ever even sold over 30,000 units so clearly Nissan is doing something right. Obviously the people of American enjoy the savings.

Before you doubt the validity of this reward, there are somethings you need to know. The IHS Automotive does extensive research and utilized verifiable quantitative data to determine ranking. They analyze consumer behavior and retention strategies before running the numbers and making a decision. Overall, the process is extensive and winning such a reward mean that Nissan is doing something great. Congrats guys!
